Dear All,
I would like to extend a warm welcome to all Golden Key members. This is an exciting time for Golden Key at La Trobe. We start the second half of the year with a strong, new committee that is eager to continue the successes of the previous years. The ‘Golden Key Homework Club’ a voluntary tutoring and mentoring program for Secondary Students, provided in conjunction with the University's Equality and Diversity Centre, was recognised at the Golden Key Asia Pacific Conference 2010 as being the best Golden Key voluntary program in the Asia Pacific Region. As well, La Trobe Golden Key's annual fundraising event is almost here! Trivia Mania will be held on Wednesday 1st September, 7 pm at Eagle Bar, La Trobe University, Union Building. All proceeds support indigenous literacy through The Australian Literacy and Numeracy Foundation. This is the 3rd year of the event, last year's event raised over $1000, and this year we are hoping to reach that mark again. It will be a fun night of trivia and games with great prizes and is a great social event for all Golden Key members and other friends to meet up. La Trobe Golden Key will continue to provide opportunities for members to show leadership, provide examples of service for the community and assist with academic achievement. Welcome to an exciting organisation to be involved with.
